The first land sales in kangaroo Point took place in December 1843 with local identity Captain J Wickham, the Police Magistrate amongst the first purchasers.
By 1887 Kangaroo Point was home to Yungaba Immigration Centre and was home to schools and a hospital. Later years Kangaroo Point was dominated by heavy industry focused on the maritime industry.
Today Kangaroo Point is a modern thriving cosmopolitan hub with a skyline dotted with high rise apartment buildings however it has not lost its heritage with no less than 15 heritage listed buildings still remaining.
Kangaroo Point attracts both locals and tourists alike to its natural cliffs and landmarks.
